Technical tip: How is the proper-heavy-duty spring to be used in my vehicle determined?

helper and reinforced springs

Helper and reinforced springs are suspension systems that support or reinforce the existing suspension system in order to correct a suspension problem. Helper springs are fitted on vehicles with leaf suspension. A helper spring or replacement spring is used on vehicles that already have coil spring suspension. These reinforced springs will largely ensure that the vehicle returns to its original ride height, which increases spring travel and thus improves stability and, to some extent, comfort levels.

A VB-CoilSpring is the right option for vehicles that are always heavily laden and that do not carry variable loads. This is because the reinforcement to the spring force is permanent and cannot be adjusted.

The appropriate version for your vehicle
To determine whether a VB-CoilSpring can solve your spring problem and to be able to advise you on which version you need, you will need to have the right axle weights at hand. Reading the information on your vehicle's typeplate is not enough, as these are the maximum permissible weights and not the exact weights. Weighing the axle weights can be done, for example, on a weighbridge or in a garage with weighing plates. Based on the exact axle weights, the VB partner can provide you with appropriate advice and determine what the correct version of the VB-CoilSpring is best for you.

Return of the international aftersales meeting this year!

In addition to our annual international sales meeting, we are delighted to report that, as of 2023, the international aftersales meeting has become another fixture in the calendar!

We have updated our brochures!

We're already through October and the end of the year is in sight. Before you know it, we'll be settling in for those chilly evenings again: lighting the stove, putting our feet up and getting the tablet out while relaxing on the sofa.

We were keen to celebrate a special moment with Martin!

Today, 20 October, was officially our colleague Martin Uffink's last day of work and marked the start of his retirement. He chose not to work up to the very last minute: with some hours saved up and annual leave owed, his last day at VB-Airsuspension was actually back in August –on Thursday 22nd, to be precise.
