The winter season is fast approaching, time for many to put their motorhome to bed for the winter. Or, maybe you’re one of those planning to get out in your motorhome over the winter months? We would like to give you a few (technical) tips here, to help you get through the season.
Taking your motorhome to your garage for a service, maintenance or repairs, e.g. having winter tyres put on? In this case, we would strongly recommend setting your air suspension system to 'service mode', otherwise you might end up with some annoying issues. The button for service mode can be found on your remote control (VB-Remote) and is marked with a tool icon. If you are taking your vehicle to a different garage (not the one you normally use for service, maintenance or repairs) and this garage is not part of our VB-Partner network, you should inform them that your motorhome has air suspension and that service mode must be switched on before they start work on your vehicle.
Is your motorhome ready for the winter? Other things to think about…
As well as your (air) suspension system, we recommend having the following and other standard checks carried out on your motorhome: a check of the oil level, the coolant level, the tyres and tyre pressures, plus the battery status.
Visual and functional inspection
VB-Airsuspension systems are basically maintenance-free. However, we would recommend always carrying out a visual and functional inspection of your air suspension system as a precaution before mothballing your motorhome for the winter or if you are planning a longer trip. What should you watch out for? Check our advice again here.
