VB-Airsuspension opens its doors for its
30th anniversary

A special date
Saturday 1 April 2023 marks a very special day of celebration for VB-Airsuspension. For many people, '1 April' is synonymous with jokes and pranks, but for us it is a day of celebration and great pride – because it is when we mark our anniversary. And this year it's an extra special one: our 30th! We are throwing open our doors on this special day to welcome all those who are interested in finding out more about who we are, what we do and who we do it for.

You may well have come across our organisation elsewhere or have a longstanding connection with the company. We are relatively unknown in the region due to the very specific and complex niche we occupy in the automotive industry. Nonetheless, we are globally active and have a strong reputation in the sector in which we operate. On top of that, we are represented around the world by no fewer than eight subsidiaries.

Then and now
Our organisation was founded almost 30 years ago - in 1993 - under the name: VB-Techniek. Twelve years later VB-Techniek changed its name to VB-Airsuspension to reflect its international aspirations, the huge growth in business and the product range that was gradually narrowed down to focus specifically on air suspension. Since then we have built an international reputation and are now represented in more than 60 countries, with over 325 installation partners and 975+ qualified specialists.

Our profile in the year 2023 is of a leading innovative company undergoing rapid growth that wants our customers to benefit from premium suspension applications and (air) suspension systems. On Saturday 1 April 2023, we will be looking back at 30 years in the automotive sector – as a consultancy, developer and supplier of (air) suspension systems for light-to-medium-duty commercial vehicles. To give you a better idea of the type of vehicles we mean, we do not supply systems for passenger cars or for trucks, but for everything in between. Air suspension is the general term used by many people to describe suspension systems that (partially) run on air. VB-Airsuspension (air) suspension systems are used where the vehicle's original suspension is not adequate for the job. In doing so, we contribute to greater comfort, better handling, useful functions and greater safety to help make every day smoother for drivers and passengers.

VBA is everywhere!
It's almost certain you will have experienced our products without even being aware of it. How can that be? Our (air) suspension systems are used for many different applications and target groups. These include motorhomes, car transporters, 4x4 vehicles, wheelchair-accessible vehicles and various emergency vehicles, including ambulances. VB-Airsuspension's products are increasingly bringing added value to new markets, too, because the products add 'nice-to-have' features or solve problems for a whole range of applications. This is all part of our mission: “We create the next level in vehicle dynamics”.

Open Day
Our 30th anniversary is an extra special milestone and, as many of you already know, we like to share these special moments together. If you go past the Hofskamp-Oost business park in Varsseveld, you can hardly fail to have noticed the signage around our premises on Guldenweg and Frankenweg : “Come and join us for our Open Day!”. Plans for the Open Day events and festivities have been many months in the making.

We are inviting all those with an interest in the company and our products to join us on Saturday 1 April 2023, between 10 am and 1 pm, when visitors will be able to experience the world of air suspension and get to know our organisation from the inside. Our main location on Frankenweg (Innovation and Technology Centre) and our Logistics Centre on Guldenweg will be open to visitors. It promises to be a hugely enjoyable event with tours, information about our products, the opportunity to experience the 'technical side' of the organisation and discover the many applications our products can be used for, and check out our current vacancies across many disciplines in an informal environment. The Open Day will have plenty to inspire young and old alike – including fun activities for budding engineers and young people with a technical mindset. Check it out to see for yourself! To conclude the event in style, we are also inviting you to experience the added value of our products for yourself by taking two real-life test drives on our own test track. First, we let you take a test drive with the original chassis on the vehicle, and you then get to experience the difference in comfort level when driving a vehicle with a full air suspension system. Ready to take on the challenge?

If you have visited our organisation in the past – maybe for one of the VIV open days – you'll see for yourself how much we have grown in recent years. The new building at Guldenweg 6 did not exist back then, so there will be plenty of things you haven't seen before. Despite the huge growth we have undergone and our global reach, we are still an Achterhoek-based organisation to our core – and never anything less than down to earth. Be sure to come and visit us! “Come and join us on 1 April 2023, between 10 am and 1 pm – a special day that's open to all!”

Return of the international aftersales meeting this year!

In addition to our annual international sales meeting, we are delighted to report that, as of 2023, the international aftersales meeting has become another fixture in the calendar!

We have updated our brochures!

We're already through October and the end of the year is in sight. Before you know it, we'll be settling in for those chilly evenings again: lighting the stove, putting our feet up and getting the tablet out while relaxing on the sofa.

We were keen to celebrate a special moment with Martin!

Today, 20 October, was officially our colleague Martin Uffink's last day of work and marked the start of his retirement. He chose not to work up to the very last minute: with some hours saved up and annual leave owed, his last day at VB-Airsuspension was actually back in August –on Thursday 22nd, to be precise.
