A good suspension system must provide both spring force and damping, so the vehicle feels both stable and comfortable to drive. In order to achieve this, each vehicle is fitted with a suspension (coil spring suspension, leaf suspension or torsion bar suspension) and shock absorbers. In most cases, the vehicle's standard suspension doesn't provide greater comfort, increased stability or optimum driveability. But don't worry: VB-Airsuspension offers the right solution for every (suspension) issue.
Why a vehicle has a suspension system and shock absorbers
The suspension under the vehicle ensures that passengers and/or the cargo do not feel every bump in the road surface. The shock absorbers dampen the movement of the suspension. Without shock absorbers, a vehicle would continue to bounce up and down. They also keep the wheels in contact with the road surface, which is important for the vehicle's driveability, control and safety.
If you are interested in our (air) suspension systems, you will have undoubtedly come across the terms ‘coil spring suspension’ and ‘leaf suspension’. These springs are the most commonly used types. However, the term 'torsion bar suspension' may sound less familiar.
Torsion bar suspension is widely used on the AL-KO chassis. The AL-KO chassis is used often in the motorhome market. VB-Airsuspension also offers various systems for motorhomes with an AL-KO chassis and original torsion bar suspension.
Improved driving characteristics thanks to VB-Airsuspension products
The vehicle’s original type of suspension system generally doesn't provide optimum comfort and may even cause certain 'issues’ when the vehicle is used for a certain purpose. Our first-class suspension adjustments and (air) suspension systems provide greater comfort, increased stability, optimum driveability and useful functionalities.
Want to know more about what we can do for you? Regardless of your vehicle's original suspension, there is a good chance our (air) suspension systems are also the right solution for you. Feel free to contact one of our VB-Partners, who will be happy to help you.
