New generation of VB-ActiveAir

Image: Composite Leaf Springs

We are pleased to present the new generation of VB-ActiveAir for the Iveco Daily. The system has now been developed further to improve vehicle behaviour and offer better diagnostic capabilities.

The VB-Airsuspension development team has developed the current system further by tuning it even more and applying new components. Tuning the system in particular takes a lot of time. Various driving tests were carried out on several test tracks with different types of road surfaces. We ventured out on off-road tracks with deep potholes, we tackled roads with lots of bends and elevations, and we did evasive manoeuvres at high speeds. The VB-ActiveAir system has to perform well on every surface, which is why it took many kilometres and hours for us to achieve this result, and we are very proud of it.

Faster error detection, better stability, increased comfort

Besides improving the shock absorbers, we also introduced new sensors and a completely new control system. These components all contribute to better stability and increased comfort compared to the current system. The redesigned steering also improves the vehicle dynamics by responding even faster to the sensors' pulses (movement). The new system is also far easier to analyse by VB-Partners with the diagnostic equipment they have available in order to rectify possible faults more quickly.

The new VB-ActiveAir generation will be introduced in the coming months and can be retrofitted like all VB-Airsuspension systems.
